Welcome!

There are many reasons for wanting to see a psychoterapist. Some might seek therapy because they feel stuck in unwanted patterns, are going through a crisis, or are challenged in their relationships. Others might seek therapy because they want to develop certain aspects of their personality.

In  therapy, you can get help discovering the core of your challenges, processing difficult experiences, and gaining new insigths and ways of approaching your life.

It is important to me as a therapist that therapy is a place where you find a space to be you with all the thoughts, emotions and experiences you bring with you. Even those that might be confusing, overwhelming or shamfull.

Psychotherapy is for anyone who want a change in life.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me.

Below you will find an overview of the services I offer.

Individual Therapy in English

In individual therapy sessions, we will take a deeper look into your situation, your needs, strengths and challenges, and what may prevent you from getting closer to what you want.

When we get new insight into ourselves, our emotions and behaviours and become better at being present with difficult aspects of life, new opportunities arise.

There are many reasons for seeking individual therapy, like;

- A desire to develop in certain areas of life

- A need to enter into relationships in a changed way

- Unwanted patterns and behaviors that get in the way and keep repeating themselves

- An experience of depression or burnout

I can help you in a variety of ways, including the following:

  • Low self-confidence/self-esteem
  • Personal development and life patterns
  • Relational challenges
  • Performance anxiety and exam anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Feeling low
  • Early loss and trauma
  • Coping with illness
  • Belief and existential issues
  • Grief and crisis
  • Relationships
  • Stress and burnout
  • Self-harm
  • Addiction
  • Trauma from sexual abuse in childhood
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Postpartum reactions
  • Attention deficit disorder
  • Personality disorder
  • Being related to someone with a drug problem
  • Being related to someone with a mental illness

Therapy with children and young people under the age of 15 is best done in the company of a caretaker.

Couples Therapy in English

There are many reasons why couples seek therapy. Some seek couples therapy to strengthen and maintain love, intimacy and good communicational strategies. Others seek couples therapy because they are challenged in their relationship and may experience distance, conflicts or a bad atmosphere between them. For some, couples therapy may be about clarifying whether the relationship should continue, or how they can part in the best way possible.

In therapy, we will look into what what challenges you, including what each of you is hoping for or affected by. In my experience, it may be difficult to talk to our loved ones about what hurts. My starting point in therapy will be creating a space where difficult things can be said, and where underlying intentions can be explored.

My approach as a therapist is the point of view, that there are always reasons why we feel the way we do and react the way we do.

Couples therapy will often include both conversation between the couple and the therapist, as well as a conversation between the two partners.

I can help you in a variety of ways, including the following:

  • Communication between the two of you
  • Roles in the relationship
  • High levels of conflict
  • Jealousy
  • Infidelity
  • Lack of connection
  • Grief and crisis
  • Closeness and intimacy
  • Cultural differences
  • Being a foster or adoptive family
  • Being a blended family
  • Going through a divorce

Family Therapy in English

Maybe you have gone through a difficult time as a family? Maybe you are experiencing challenges that are difficult to handle together? Maybe there is turmoil, emotional distance or a high level of conflict in the family? Or did your child go through some difficult experiences and you are worried about his og her well-being? The above situations may be some of the reasons for seeking family therapy.

Being in family therapy can strengthen the relationships within your family and strengthen the well-being of each individual inside and outside the family. In family therapy, I will help you talk to each other  about what is difficult and welcome each individual voice in the family. My approach to you and your family is the belief that everyone in the family does the best they can, based on the opportunities they have.

How the therapy is done depends on the participants' age, motivation and the challenge at hand. You are welcome to contact me to discuss how we can start a course with you and your family in the best way.

Family therapy is for all types of families, age groups and all kinds of significant relationships.

I can help you in a variety of ways, including the following:

  • Relational challenges in or around the family
  • Loss, grief or crisis
  • High levels of conflict
  • Children who are mentally or socially challenged
  • Traumatic experiences in or around the family
  • Physical or mental illness in the family
  • Foster children and their careregivers
  • Blended families
  • Divorced families
  • Adoptive familieS
  • Issues surrounding drug use in the family

Specifically for family therapy with children/teens and their parents

Children who have been through difficult situations in or outside the family may need special help to process this. A focus in family therapy can be, for example, strengthening the relationship between the child and its parent, or it can be talking about the child's experiences with the parent as a listening and supportive participant.

Putting words to one's own feelings and own history helps children and young people to understand themselves and who they are with others.

In therapy with young children, I will sometimes include different play therapy methods.

For infants and toddlers, difficult, unprocessed experiences can show themselves as physical symptoms and have a negative impact on the child's further development. In therapy with infants and toddlers, I rely on infant therapeutic methods.

Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about this.

Group Therapy

In group therapy, multiple people meet with a focus on a common problem or theme. In group therapy, you get the opportunity to recognize yourself in others, as well as being inspired by other people's ways of handling challenges. At the same time, you are in group therapy an active participant in the lives of others, in a setting where you can offer your own insights and experiences.

As your group therapist, I will facilitate a process where each individual group member gets to speak and share what is important to them. One of the purposes of group therapy will be for the individual to participate in a process where emotions, unwanted patterns and new insights come into play.

I don't have group therapy courses at the moment, but you are welcome to get in touch to hear about any future possibilities.

Supervision in English

In supervision we reflect on our work tasks and deal with challenges in work life that may get in the way of us being able to use our professionalism and maintain job satisfaction and well-being in the workplace.

In workplaces where the job is working with people in different ways, we are often both enriched and challenged. As employees, we will find ourselves in situations where we need new inspiration at work. Since we bring our own personality, experiences and history with us into this type of work, it also means that we will be personally challenged or affected at times.

To me as a trained supervisor, it is important that supervision is a safe and confidential space. I consider asking questions and having doubts to be a professional strength.

Topics/themes in supervision could be:

  • Concrete tasks

How do I, in the best way possible, understand and work with                   the assignment I have?

  • Professional well-being

What is at stake in me?

How do I, in the best way possible, take well care of myself at                   work?

  • Professional development

What skills do I have and how do they come into play?

Where do I need more inspiration and knowledge?

Supervision is beneficial for all types of organizations and for both paid staff and volunteers.

I offer both individual and group supervision.
